Gosh..My blog is really collection dust eh? I think my dear readers have already given up checking back here. Haha..
Anyway, last week was a rather relaxing week. A dear good friend gave me a 1 lesson free pass to true yoga. Believe it or not, I've never went for any Yoga classes before this and has always been very curious as to what Yoga is. After the lesson, the sales consultant gave us another 5 free classes. Actually, it came as a surprise. I guess she wants us to experience more classes before we decide if we want to sign a package with them.
For the next few days, I went for different classes on various kinds of Yoga. I'm so surprised that there are so many different types of Yoga! A stick in a mud I am =_=
Many Yoga moves made me more aware of my bad posture. I think that Yoga involves a lot of stretching, especially on areas where we hardly use. These different poses/moves actually conditions and stretches your muscles. Muscles in area that I hardly use are more toned now.
Yoga is also good for those people with stiff muscles/joints as it increases the flexibility on there areas. It doesn't hurt to get rid of those love handles ;)
I went for Hatha, Gentle, Therapy, Hot Series. These are the different Yoga classes for beginners. I also went for Body Combat. What I like about True Yoga is that they have a variety of other classes besides the different types of Yoga. They also have Bollywood dance, Fushion Dance, Pilates, Belly Dance, Boxing etc.
Now a breakdown of the different classes I went to. Hatha, Gentle and Therapy are pretty similar. It involves a lot of stretching. Through all these stretching, one can realise the weaker parts or less flexible parts of the body. In my opinion, Therapy focus more on the back area.
Hot Series is also very enjoyable, whereby Yoga is done in a 37 degree celcius room. It helps to improve bloog circulation and detoxing of the body. Body Combat was a really good workout and sweat inducing. I can really feel my heart pumping vigourously during the body combat session.
I'd really love to sign up for True Yoga member package, but it was really expensive. The facilities is very good though. There are many shower rooms, changing rooms, lockers, hair dryers, steam room as well. Towels are also provided. There is also various resting area and even a big cosy centralised resting area with free tea and warm water.
One thing I notice, True Yoga has many members. There are many studios as well and classes start on 7am to 10.30pm. Duration of each class is about an hour. I also notice that their members are mostly the working crowd, tending to be middle aged or those retired ladies.
I'm very tempted to join as I like the pace and the facilities. Hmm..maybe I'll save up for the membership fees.
