Yoga

Gosh..My blog is really collection dust eh? I think my dear readers have already given up checking back here. Haha..

Anyway, last week was a rather relaxing week. A dear good friend gave me a 1 lesson free pass to true yoga. Believe it or not, I've never went for any Yoga classes before this and has always been very curious as to what Yoga is. After the lesson, the sales consultant gave us another 5 free classes. Actually, it came as a surprise. I guess she wants us to experience more classes before we decide if we want to sign a package with them.

For the next few days, I went for different classes on various kinds of Yoga. I'm so surprised that there are so many different types of Yoga! A stick in a mud I am =_=

Many Yoga moves made me more aware of my bad posture. I think that Yoga involves a lot of stretching, especially on areas where we hardly use. These different poses/moves actually conditions and stretches your muscles. Muscles in area that I hardly use are more toned now.

Yoga is also good for those people with stiff muscles/joints as it increases the flexibility on there areas. It doesn't hurt to get rid of those love handles ;)

I went for Hatha, Gentle, Therapy, Hot Series. These are the different Yoga classes for beginners. I also went for Body Combat. What I like about True Yoga is that they have a variety of other classes besides the different types of Yoga. They also have Bollywood dance, Fushion Dance, Pilates, Belly Dance, Boxing etc.

Now a breakdown of the different classes I went to. Hatha, Gentle and Therapy are pretty similar. It involves a lot of stretching. Through all these stretching, one can realise the weaker parts or less flexible parts of the body. In my opinion, Therapy focus more on the back area.
Hot Series is also very enjoyable, whereby Yoga is done in a 37 degree celcius room. It helps to improve bloog circulation and detoxing of the body. Body Combat was a really good workout and sweat inducing. I can really feel my heart pumping vigourously during the body combat session.

I'd really love to sign up for True Yoga member package, but it was really expensive. The facilities is very good though. There are many shower rooms, changing rooms, lockers, hair dryers, steam room as well. Towels are also provided. There is also various resting area and even a big cosy centralised resting area with free tea and warm water.

One thing I notice, True Yoga has many members. There are many studios as well and classes start on 7am to 10.30pm. Duration of each class is about an hour. I also notice that their members are mostly the working crowd, tending to be middle aged or those retired ladies.

I'm very tempted to join as I like the pace and the facilities. Hmm..maybe I'll save up for the membership fees.

Rashes :(

Feeling really sluggish today. I didn't sleep well yesterday night because of rashes on both my tighs. Mind u these are not those normal red angry rashes but big bumpy rashes. The size of one rash is twice the size of an average mosquito bite.

I used to have this kind of rashes back than in sec 3 and 4. Back than I had every 3 or 4 months and it would be on my entire body including face, pumps, soles of feet and my buttocks. The worst is that it itches like crazy! And I was so swollen :( The itch prevented me from sleeping as well although I was very tired. Needless to say, I was on mc on those days.

I went to consult docs back than, eating and applying English and Chinese doctors. Finally, a famous Chinese doctor could cure me of my sickness. The oral medication, creams and lotion that English docs prescribed was of no use.

According to the English docs, it was a kind of allergic reaction and asked me to observe the food I eat or things I touch. However, after noting down what I ate and touch for the various rashes episodes did not yield any common food that I ate that might trigger the rashes.

According to the chinese doc, it is actually the body's way of getting rid of toxins. He prescribed some chinese medicine and gave me a cream to apply on my body. Eating the medicine and applying the cream, the rashes subsided in a day! He also gave strict instructions not to expose my body to wind as it'll aggrevate the condition.

Since sec 4, I did not have an episode of these rashes anymore and now it's back. Thankfully it's only on my thighs. The itch is more bearable now after the "training" in sec 3 & 4.

Hopefully, I'll get well soon! :)

Recent Thoughts and Irritations

The weather has recently been so hot and stuffy. I'm covered in sweat literally the whole day. Normally, I'm sweat glands are already hyperactive and I'm one who starts sweating once I step out of the shower. With the hot and humid weather, it gets even worse these days. I feel so sticky and smelly the whole day :( This has also affected my already quick temper.

Some people are really irritating me recently. These 2 person whom I'd say I have close contact to are really getting on my nerves these days. Both seems to be really interested in what I'm doing these days particularly if I've started looking for a job or currently working.

Btw, I'm on holidays now that school has officially and graduating on 30th May. I find the irony of this whole thing is, when I was studying, both commented that I'm forever working during weekends or whenever I'm having holidays. They said I should take more rest as I need energy to study. Back than, these 2 people do not seem to contact me often or rather bother to stay in contact regularly.

Now, these said 2 person has taken to sms-ing me or MSN-ing me to ask if I've found a job or what I've been doing. When I told them that I'm relaxing for the time being, they seem rather surprise and than kept msg-ing me after a while or so to check if I'm working right now.

The whole point is when I tried to talk to them in the past through MSN or sms, they either give very short replies or always log off claiming to be busy. Sometimes, they do not even respond to my msg. There were few months were we had minimal or no contact. Now, they seem to be breathing down my neck to start looking for a job during this holiday period and also to start looking for perm jobs. Now, I'd just like to have a short break before stepping into the working world. Also I'd like to catch up on all the drama serials that I've been missing. Is that wrong to do so?

To me, I just feel the concerns came too late. I feel like they seem to be busy bodies in my life right now.

My MSN nic sums it all: Forgotten..concerning others only when u r free is too late..so stop bothering me now .

The Big Twos Wish List :)

Edit: I've got You Si Qi' makeup book already! An early birthday present from someone. So happy :)

Goodness..can't believe that time flies past so quickly. I didn't even realise my birthday is coming soon until today, my mum asked me what cake I'd like to have on my birthday!

That set me thinking..I love Angie The Choice Yam Cake. I tried this birthday cake several times in a few birthday parties and the taste is unforgetable! Haven't eaten this cake in ages! But the cake from Angie The Choice are rather expensive.

Cakes from Smiling Orchid are rather delicious as well.

Anyways, I told my mum that I'd like the durian mouse cake from Bt Panjang Plaza basement. It's a cake shop that specialises in selling durian puffs and cakes. The mouse cake is only $12 and the durian fillings are so creamy thick! Not forgetting the aroma is ah...ooh la la..

Ok back to my wish list for this year:

You Si Qi makeup book. She a famous makeup artist in Taiwan and I just love to see her makeup demos. I saw this book in Kinokuniya.

Another book is Xiao Wei lao shi makeup book. I've been eyeing this book for ages. But every time when Kino is having 20% sale for members, this book will be out of stock :( I've seen online reviews that this book has stop printing! I did see a few copies of this last week. Any kind soul to get this for me? Haha..

Xiao Wei lao shi has also just released a new natural makeup look guide book. Loosely translated from mandarin, the book focuses on "nude" makeup. This new book is also a rather informative as well. This book will also be a good keep ;)

Gu Xiao Wei is also a famous makeup artist in Taiwan and is frequently invited to give makeup workshops and demos.

He is frequently asked to go on 女人我最大; the hugely popular taiwan Most-In beauty show that airs Mon to Fri. I can't say how much I love this show. This show is very informative that covers mostly cosmetics and skincare as well as fashion stuffs. It's too bad my family doesn't subscribe to cable TV. So I resort to hunting down these shows online. Sadly I won't be able to catch every episode.

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain

I finally bought the lip & cheek stain after a long contemplation..

Ah..lip & cheek stains..a trip down memory lane..

Pardon my recollection..

Hmm..Let me see..my first foray into cheek stain when I was 15; a mere secondary school student who was in choir. At that time, my interest in skin care and cosmetics has only started to piqued me. My little mind than knew very little about beauty stuff..not even the basic cleanse-tone-moisturise routine..save for only knowing what is a foundation, blusher and lipstick is.

Allow me to digress a little into my back ground..You see, my mum than only used foundation, blusher and lipstick. Back when I was young, the average Singaporean hardly makeup. Makeup was only put on during special occasions like going for a wedding, dining in a restaurant etc. Thus, my knowledge of skincare and makeup was rather limited.

Ok back to when I was in secondary school. At that time, choir was to put up a performance in school. My mum than passed me her foundation only as her blusher was missing and her lipstick almost used up.

When it was time to put on my makeup, a section friend lent me her "blusher & lip stick". I remember feeling bewildered back than, wondering what was the thing before me. Seeing my confusion, my friend helped me apply my first lip & cheek stain.

I was facinated and delighted when I saw the mirror. I was truly intrigued that a red liquid could actually give me a subtle glow and pink lips! To this day, I never forget the effects of this "miracle red water"!

Unfortunately, I couldn't remember the brand of that particular stain, though I'm certain it's not from The Body Shop. I remembered my friend said she bought it from Giant(a hypermart equivalent of Target, Walmart).

So there..this was my first encounter with a lip and cheek stain.

Wow I digress quite a bit here..hehe

Anyways, I finally bought The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain today after a very long contemplation and hearing many good reviews for this.

I'll try it out in the next few days and do a review.

Have a great week ahead! :)

Finally

Finally gotten to set up a personal blog! :) At least over here, I can bare my soul :)

Anyway, I just want to concentrate on beauty stuff on my beauty blog.

Been procrastinating alot recently. My room, my makeup, my life..

My room is still not tidied up. Tidied it before my attachment, but it's now super messy.
Looking at the mess, it frightens me to start packing. Haiz..I should get my lazy butt off and start packing.

I've been looking for an ideal storage solution for my makeup. Looked up on many ideas online. Seen many beauty addicts storage ideas and how they store their makeup. However, many of their beauty storage are custom built..Boo Hoo..

Another beauty addict suggested some furnitures catering to store beauty stuff. She linked a site and I went in to take a look. I really like the storage system and compartments but it cost a bomb! PLUS it's location is in the US or UK. Shipping it to here will cost an arm and a leg!!!!! *Sigh*

Than, one day, I saw snowkei's entry. Snowkei is a rather famous member in Spektra-the MAC addict website/forum. Snowkei hails from Taiwan and is also a makeup artist. Her makeup tutorials are excellent. Check out her blog here and her entry on her new makeup storage solution. Her new makeup storage solution looks like a tool box to me. Kinda like those to keep screws, screwdrivers and other tools.

If anyone has seen anything similar to Snowkei's makeup storage, pls inform me. Thanks!
